Smoker-friendly places to stay

In Amsterdam there are places to stay in all sorts and sizes. Here's a selection of smoker-friendly hotels, hostels and campings which are used to handle people like you and us. They know and understand why you're in Amsterdam, so these places are used to have some stoners hanging around in the lobby.

The Bulldog Hotel is one of the latest initiatives of the famous Bulldog chain. It’s a newly renovated, self-styled, clean and cool hostel in the heart of the center only 8 minutes walk from Central (train) Station, in the middle of all the action.

Above their own coffeeshop and bar situated in the heart of the oldest, most pulsating and atmospheric part of Amsterdam, offers the Greenhouse a high standard of clean, fun and safe accommodation. They do not impose any curfew so come back as late (or early) as you like.

The Rookies

Stayokay Vondelpark
Stayokay Vondelpark is one of Holland’s (maybe even Europe’s) largest and most modern hostels. The location is unusual: inside the famous Vondelpark in the centre of Amsterdam. The hostel is partly located in a monumental chalet building from which you have a stunning view over the park.

Hostel Meetingpoint
Hostel Meetingpoint tries to keep all the wishes of the traveler in mind. For the many of you who don't really care with how many people they share a room, they have dorm rooms for 8 and 18 persons. The Meetingpoint bar is open 24/7.

Bob's Youth Hostel
Some 20 years ago, a Bob decided he wanted a hostel, where young people from all over the world could sleep under the cleanest of sheets without having to pay too much. Bob liked a hostel where anybody could just knock on the door and find a place to stay.

Flying Pig Hostels
The Flying Pig has 2 hostels in Amsterdam: Flying Pig Downtown and the Flying Pig Uptown. They aim to provide you with the best balance between laidback ness, homily comforts and the excitement of the city of Amsterdam.

Campings

Camping Zeeburg
In the summer this camping is full of mostly young people from just about every European country. The predominant smell is from the products of Amsterdam coffee shops being consumed from breakfast until late into the night.

Camping Vliegenbos
Camping Vliegenbos is a campsite to the north of Amsterdam not far from the River IJ. It’s located in the middle of a 62-acre wood, just 10 minutes from the lively centre of Amsterdam. Vliegenbos is considered a 'youth campsite', which means it’s generally a more lively/noisy site.
