As we all know, you can enjoy marijuana in many different ways and eating is of course one of them. Ever wanted to bake your own pot brownies or space cake? Well as I every now and then like to surprise my friends with some nice pot brownies, I have tried many recipes. The best one so far has been a batch of pot brownies I baked for my sister’s b-day. When she later asked me to share the recipe with her, I decided to share it with you to. So here goes:
Making weed butter
First of all you need to melt butter and put some weed in it. The amount of weed is up to you and depends on how strong your weed is and how strong you want the brownies to be. Butter is the best way to get your baked goods filled with THC because THC is fat-soluble and butter of course is nice and fat and therefore the perfect way to absorb the THC from your weed. You can easily do this by heating up butter in a pan and just throw some weed in it. Make sure not to burn the butter. The easiest way to do this is by putting a small pan with the butter in a bigger pan with hot water. Once the butter is heated up you can throw the weed in the butter and let it be hot (but not boil) for at least 45 minutes. You might want to stir the butter every 5 minutes or so and after 45 minutes you can strain the butter to take out the left over weed. Let the butter cool down or put it in a refrigerator and once it is solid, it is ready to be used.
The Pot-Brownie recipe
You will need the following:
- 250 grams (about 2 sticks) of weed butter
- 3 big eggs
- 250 grams of semisweet chocolate chips
- 100 grams unsweetened chocolate
- 1½ tablespoons instant coffee powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
First pre-heat the oven to about 150 degrees Celsius (some say you can't go higher than 150 because it might waste the THC) and flour a baking pan or cake tin.
Melt the weed butter together with the chocolate chips and the unsweetened chocolate. The best way to go about this is to do it in a glass dish in the microwave at 25 seconds intervals. After melting it good you can let it cool down just a bit before adding the sugar, vanilla, instant coffee and the eggs. Mix them while stirring it very good and let it cool down to room temperature.
Now mix the flour, salt and the baking powder and add it to the chocolate mixture and the mixture is now ready to be poured into the baking pan. You can then throw a layer of chocolate chips with some flour on top to finish it off.
Place the pan in the middle of the pre-heated oven and let it be there for about 30-45 minutes. After about 15 minutes you could ram the pan against the oven shelf to let the air escape between the pan and the brownies. When you stick a knife in the dough and it comes out dry/clean, it means your brownies are ready! Make sure you don’t overbake them! After taking them out of the over, make sure to cool them completely and put them in the refrigerator for a while.
Now, the best part of course; tasting them! Be careful when you try the first brownie as it might take some time before you notice the effect of the cannabis and my experience says that they can be surprisingly strong.
