Smoking Marijuana In The Polish Parliament?

Eccentric politician Janusz Palikot, MP of the Ultra-Liberal Palikot's Movement party, has announced that he will invite members of the Free Hemp Society to join him in the Polish parliament this Friday where he will be smoking Marijuana. His plan is to use civil disobedience to prove that the law that was introduced last December, which allows prosecutors to decide whether or not to charge citizens for the possession of cannabis, is discriminating and doesn’t work. Later that day Janusz Palikot will be presenting an amendment to the Parliament that would allow total legalization of soft drugs in Poland.

His plan to smoke a joint in the Polish parliament is not the first time he attracts attention. Janusz Palikot is known for his rebelling against Prime Minister Donald Tusk's Civic Platform party and knows how to attract and use publicity.  In 2007 he waved around a pink dildo and a gun during a news conference to bring attention to police brutality. The Palikot's Movement party has captured the hearts of many Polish citizens by opening up sensitive subjects as civil unions for heterosexual and homosexual couples, in-vitro fertilization reimbursed by national health insurance, a secular state and a modern drug policy.

Prior to the general election in 2011, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that he was against the legalization of soft drugs, reports TheNews.pl

But knowing that at that time Tusk also ruled out any possible coalition with the Palikot's Movement that in the end was elected with a surprising 10% of the votes, we sincerely hope that Palikot will surprise again and gets Marijuana completely legalized for Poland!
